Why and How Face of Woha Started?
The Face of Woha was founded, created and produced by Dr Desziree Richardson, who is passionate about education for girls and connecting unity of diversity among women and empowering women to find their voice, discover their purpose, take their power back and stop, stand and stay in their greatness.
History
The Face of Woha and Women of Heart Awards to give rise to the lives of many.
I founded the International Women of Heart Foundation 2018, which gave way to the Women of Heart Awards WOHA, a yearly black-tie stunning empowering entertainment and dinner gala celebrating 88 diverse women from around the globe who are the beating hearts of humanity. WOHA, in return, gave birth to the Face of Women of Heart Awards FACE of WOHA in 2022, the empowered woman brand, products, fashion and speaking extravaganza platform sharing messages to the world.
Why the Face of Woha was created?
Over the years, I have been entrusted with overcoming the obstacles, challenges, and self-sabotage that have dogged me for years. The experience of knowing what it feels like when someone says you are not good enough and you have experienced and overcome the night of the soul. Five words changed my life; they were taking care of your emotions. All my life, I always knew how to love, but learning how to love myself, I never knew or was taught from a tender age. Nevertheless, I had to learn to choose myself. As a collective, if we continue educating others with the proper guidance and knowledge, they can become empowered. My life experiences have propelled me to make a difference globally, which I envisioned at an adolescent age.
How did Face of Woha start?
In 2020, during the lockdown, Face of Woha was born online to bring messages of hope, enlightenment, education, empowerment, wisdom and resilience with ambition and the determination to reach many women and girls worldwide through the power of the internet.
The Future of Face of Woha.
The Face of Woha is in its fourth consecutive year of moving from online to a vision in a theatre in London on Friday, November 17th, 2023.
Our crowned representatives
Our first titleholder is Victoria George-Veale from Wales, England, in 2020.
Our second titleholder is Clarisa Romero from Puerto Rico, 2021.
Our third titleholder is Dr Virginia Rivera from Puerto Rico, 2022.
They represent the strong, kind, humble and intelligent faces of WOHA, who are part of the guiding lights of our intellectual and empowering world. May their light continuously shine throughout our spheres, their voices be listened to, and their talents and creativity show up and be respected where ever they go
